Derrick Henry is a huge fan of fans and hard work. The Tennessee Titans running back is also a fan of his fans’ hard work.
But when he tweeted Monday that he was interested in his Twitter followers’ artwork and “creations”, Henry couldn’t figure out the response that followed.
While he didn’t say how much he spent on articles following the tweet, he expressed gratitude for the breadth of the response.
“I just wanted to contact and see if anyone had anything,” he said before training on Thursday. “They have made fantastic creations that should be worth a lot.”
They never did. People responded by showing Henry’s paintings, among other things. Henry followed up with some of them, purchasing their work as promised.
“I appreciate the response I’ve gotten from all the people,” Henry said. “People are creative and put a lot of work into their art.”

One person posted a photo of a painting of several Titans, including Henry and Ryan Tannehill, and wrote, “I’d love to paint something for you @ kinghenry_2”.
Henry responded in kind: “Let’s do it!”
Another person posted four pencil drawings and offered to make one of Henry, who replied, “I need it!”
The answers went on and on. As of Thursday afternoon, her original post has been retweeted over 900 times and enjoyed over 16,000 times.
This prompted Henry to follow his original tweet with a thank you.
“I’m not going to lie, I didn’t expect this to explode like it did,” Henry tweeted on Tuesday. “I may not be able to buy everyone’s creations, but I appreciate all of you.”
